A welcome grounded in Scripture
“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18)
Forrest Ministries exists to make that nearness tangible—through careful theology and tender care. Here you will find essays that wrestle honestly with Scripture and resources for moments of deep need. Our prayer is simple: that the love of Christ will meet you where you are and that his Spirit will set you free.
Who we are
Forrest Ministries began as the shared work of Trevor and Alison Forrester—shaped by real jobs, real families, and real suffering. The story winds through seasons of re-evaluation, repentance, and renewal, including decisive steps of faith such as believer’s baptism and the long journey toward forgiving the self in the light of God’s forgiveness.
Alongside this ministry, Trevor writes publicly about his spiritual journey—tracing college years, shifting convictions, a shift back to First Principals and the steady hand of God over many decades—and continues to reflect on life’s hardest questions through a philosophical lens. Our heartbeat
Clarity in theology. Compassion in care. We aim to answer serious questions with scriptural depth while accompanying people through seasons of grief, doubt, and decision. That includes work on suffering and blessing, moral discernment, Baptist distinctives, and the hope of the resurrection.

3) External pathways to help
When addiction, mental illness, or family strain surfaces, clear next steps matter. We curate links and basic guidance to help you begin seeking appropriate care. Our public writing keeps mental health in view as a gospel concern: TrevorForrester.au — Blog.
How we work (our theological posture)
We begin with Christ—crucified and risen—who meets us in lament before he leads us in hope. We read the hard texts of Scripture within the canon’s great story of God’s self-giving love, and we strive to practise that love in concrete ways: presence at the bedside, prayer at the graveside, advocacy for the vulnerable, and patient discipleship in the ordinary.
Start here: a short reading path

If you’re in a valley right now
You are not an interruption. If today involves loss, fear, or questions that feel unanswerable, the prayers and short rubrics here were written with you in mind. When words are few, this simple commendation can help:
“Into your hands, O Lord, we commend your child. Light perpetual shine upon them. Amen.”
